Qashqai 3/10/2015 12:00:00 AM

Nissan's Qashqai sounds like a name out of this world. The Qashqai SUV was named after a group of people living in mountainous south Iran.

The name has travelled far from it's start in Iran, as the Qashqai SUV has arrived in North America. Just like the Qashqai people, who live a nomad lifestyle, the Qashqai is ready for travel and adventure.

The 2017 model is the SUVs second-generation. The first generation, which launched in Europe in 2007, was one of the first to start the trend of smaller family sized SUV's.

This trend allows for the practicality, style and desirability of an SUV but with the costs and smaller size of a car. The crossover Qashqai changed the game. Back in 2007 when the first Qashqai launched SUVs were bigger and had terrible gas mileage. They were huge in size. This doesn't appeal to today's growing families.

Families want an affordable SUVs that have all the features they want and need. They want better gas mileage and space. But not so much space that it feels like they are driving a boat. They want luxury features that are simple to use. The Qashqai has these things but for the right price.

One of the most important features for many drivers, is gas mileage. The Qashqai gets better gas mileage than its predecessor SUV's.

Along with better gas mileage the Qashqai offers the space that is associated with an SUV. The rear seats fold down to allow for more cargo space.

But Qashqai does more than fold down its seats. It has all the luxury features that people want in a new SUV like air conditioning, key-less entry, Bluetooth speakers, Bose sound system, LCD screens, etc. But these futures are user friendly, which is another desirable feature.

Although it's new to the North American market the Qashqai is the crossover SUV to watch. With all the luxury features in the Qashqai and the size and design, it is the perfect SUV for today's families.
