The 10 Biggest Upgrades In The All-New 2025 Nissan Armada

Over 70 years since the first Patrol, 22 years since the first-generation Armada, and nine years since the second-generation Armada debuted at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show, the all-new 2025 Nissan Armada is here. And what a big, beautiful beast it is.

There's so much that's changed with the new Armada, but we wanted to take the time to hit the highlights: 10 big changes that completely shift the goalposts and reset the game.

ENGINE

Under the hood of the 2025 Armada is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 cranking out 425 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Compared with the previous Armada's V8, that's an increase of 25 horsepower and – drum roll – 103 lb-ft of torque.

TRANSMISSION

Sending the 2025 Armada's 425 horsepower to all four wheels through an Intelligent 4WD system is a 9-speed automatic, switched over from a 7-speed automatic in the previous Armada. That's not just an extra couple of gears for the fun of it. The overall ratio range is 40% broader (to aid fuel efficiency) and upshifts are faster (to aid acceleration.)

AUDIO

Installed in every 2025 Armada is a new premium audio system from the renowned audiophiles at Klipsch. The 12-speaker Klipsch system uses titanium tweeters, an 8-inch DualPower subwoofer, and Panasonic DJX surround sound.

PRO-4X

For the first time, the Armada will now be available as a PRO-4X, Nissan-speak for extra off-road ability. The 2025 Armada PRO-4X gets all-terrain tires, an improved approach angle, underbody skid plates, an electronic locking differential, and adaptive electronic air suspension.

CARGO

Who doesn't want more space? The new Armada now has 24% more cargo volume behind the third row.

LEGROOM

Nissan didn't just add more space for stuff. The 2025 Armada's front seat offers an extra 4.2 inches of legroom; the third row now has an extra 5.7 inches of legroom.

PILOTS

Standard in the 2025 Nissan Armada Platinum is a new version of ProPILOT Assist: ProPILOT Assist 2.1, which allows for hands-free driving along single-lane highways.

TECH

Up front, the Armada now includes Google built-in features along with dual 12.3 inch displays. Unless you move up to the top trim levels, in which case those dual displays stretch to 14.3 inches.

CONSTRUCTION

It's so much easier to make a vehicle ride and handle better if it's built well. The new Armada supplies 25% greater torsional rigidity and a 57% increase in lateral stiffness.

MORE TECH

Nissan isn't kidding around on the tech front. The 2025 Armada now offers an Invisible Hood View, a Front Wide View, a rotating 3D Around View Monitor, and even Trailer Blind Spot Monitoring.
