All-New Nissan Frontier & Pathfinder Score Pair of Motorweek Drivers' Choice Awards

If you were around in the ‘80s, you might remember a little TV show called Motorweek. Highlighting consumer-oriented reviews, DIY car care tips, and the latest industry news, Motorweek was responsible for launching a brand-new era of automotive entertainment. Now, they have the longest-running automotive series and are recognized as a trusted resource for consumers across the continent.

Each year since 1983, Motorweek has pulled out all the stops for their annual Drivers’ Choice Awards. Editors look at vehicles from a consumer’s perspective, focusing on the factors that matter most to the average buyer - price, practicality, performance and fuel efficiency. Editors compile a lengthy list of competitors for each category, then narrow down the overall winners. These are the vehicles that, in their own words, “we would like to have parked in our driveway, or at least dream about owning if we won the lottery.”

And 2022 was no exception. In the latest installment of Motorweek’s annual awards, two Nissan vehicles have been recognized as the best of the best! The all-new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder has been honoured as Motorweek’s ‘Best Midsize Utility’ vehicle, while the completely redesigned 2022 Nissan Frontier has been named the winner of their ‘Best Midsize Pickup’ category! Keep reading to find out what editors had to say.

2022 Nissan Pathfinder - Best Midsize Utility

“It’s more than just rugged good looks that earned the Nissan Pathfinder our Best Midsize Utility award. Nissan’s proven 284-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 is now mated to a new 9-speed automatic transmission; that combo is able to tow 6,000-lbs. of trailer. Plus, there’s a well-executed, highly flexible, durable, tech heavy interior that today’s SUV-buying families desire.“

2022 Nissan Frontier - Best Midsize Pickup

“Continuing Nissan’s return to rugged theme, is the Nissan Frontier, our Best Midsize Truck winner. The Frontier got a long overdue major overhaul this year; going from the most outdated in the segment to the most modern. Yet, this is truthfully one midsize pickup built for real truck people; full frame, with your choice of two different wheelbases, established 4X4 system, and the most horsepower in the class from its 310-horsepower V6."

The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO is a third trim level added to the seventh-generation Z for its second model year, a top-spec option sitting above the Z Sport and Z Performance.
